About TMC
Who We Are
TMC CEO Julia addresses attendees of Changemaker Skills Camp 2024
At The Movement Cooperative (TMC), we know that real change starts with people—advocates, organizers, and changemakers working toward a more just and equitable world.
Deep relationships, bold ideas, and people power fuel the progressive movement. But even the most visionary work can be held back by gaps in infrastructure—missing data, inaccessible tools, and systems that don’t scale with the work or grow alongside evolving strategies.
That’s where we come in. TMC exists to bridge that gap. We provide the shared tools, trusted data, engineering expertise, research support, and collaborative space that help our members organize more efficiently, campaign more effectively, and build power that lasts.
How We Work
We provide the technical backbone and collaborative community that help over 90 national and state-based members and over 1,400 affiliates do their best work: driving change through advocacy, organizing, civic engagement, and direct service.
TMC is a hub for shared infrastructure and mutual support. From big campaigns to everyday data needs, our members count on us for things like:
TMC CXO Samantha at the Higher Ground Labs Election Tech Debrief, January 2025.

The TMC Model
We operate like a public good: scaled, accessible, and values-aligned. From large-scale voter mobilization efforts to mutual aid organizing, our work adapts to meet members where they are—without compromising quality or care.
Our approach is guided by a long-term theory of change:
Our movement’s long-term strategic success relies on all of us—and on building infrastructure owned and fueled by the movement and the people behind it. When we unite our shared values with data systems to measure, track, and socialize base-building strategies that work, we lay the groundwork for trust, connection, rapid innovation, and community.
When our tools and data reflect the people we serve and our infrastructure honors how they show up to do the work, we build a movement that’s sustainable, connected, and future-ready.
“Our theory of change is grounded in how we build power through leadership and leadership development and base building. We couldn’t do that work without the support of TMC and the data infrastructure.
