    WHAT IS A HYBRID EVENT?

A hybrid event is a conference that combines a live in-person event with virtual online components.

All track-specific sessions will be streamed live and recordings available after the conference. A limited number of virtual tickets will be available in each skills track.

  • WHEN CAN I REGISTER?

Tickets go live in mid-January until February 26, 2024.

    HOW MUCH ARE THE TICKETS?

We want Changemaker Skills Camp to be financially accessible to as many organizers as possible. Our ticket prices reflect our dedication to that accessibility; similar events usually begin ticket pricing in the $300-450 range. If your employer offers professional development funding, we encourage you to consider using them to attend this skills training. We can offer some tips on making your case to your management if needed. However, if the cost of attendance represents a significant burden and would otherwise keep you from attending, email us at events@movementcooperative.org. We’ll do our best to help you join in.

DID TICKETS SELL OUT ALREADY? WILL YOU RELEASE ADDITIONAL TICKETS?

Due to a limited number of trainers, venue space, and budget, tickets for each training track are limited to ensure trainers and virtual moderators can deliver the best possible experience for their campers.

CSC 2024 compensates our trainers for their time and efforts. Depending on demand, we may be able to source and fund additional trainers. If tickets have sold out, please email events@movementcooperative.org with the subject line “CSC 2024 Waitlist” and include the training track you are interested in joining in the body of your email. We will add you to our waitlist to be notified should we reach the necessary threshold to be able to reopen ticket sales.

    WHAT ARE HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS?

For the Changemaker Skills Camp in March 2024, there will not be a room block in Atlanta, Georgia. Two union hotels in the downtown Atlanta area are within a 15-minute walk or 4-minute drive from the Loudermilk Conference Center; Hyatt Regency Atlanta and Westin Peachtree Plaza. The Changemaker Skills Camp is not in contract with these hotels and recommends them as union-approved accommodation options.

    Hyatt Regency Atlanta | 265 Peachtree Street N.E. | Atlanta, GA 30303

Westin Peachtree Plaza | 210 Peachtree St. NE | Atlanta, GA 30303

Where NOT to stay: While researching hotels to recommend, two hotels were flagged by labor organizers due to ongoing labor disputes in the Atlanta area. The Changemaker Skills Camp recommends not staying at these hotels in solidarity with their workers:

✖︎ Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel

    ✖︎ Westin Atlanta Airport

ARE MEALS INCLUDED IN THE COST OF MY REGISTRATION?

The Changemaker Skills Camp will include the following meals:

    Tuesday: Light Lunch

    Wednesday–Friday: Breakfast & Lunch

    • Snacks, beverages, and coffee will be available throughout the day

All meals will include options for everyone who registers. If you have a specific dietary need for accommodation, please let us know when you submit your registration, and we’ll do our best to ensure your needs are met.

  • HOW ARE THE TRAINING TRACKS ORGANIZED?

Each track will have a focused training curriculum to ensure attendees walk away with strong skills to implement in their daily work. Depending on your training track, you will dig into topics as wide-ranging as SQL training, streamlining accounting processes, or creating human-centered organizations.

Unlike other conferences, attendees will sign up for their training track when registering and then stay together throughout the conference. We think that this cohort- (or if you like the camp metaphor, cabin-) style curriculum will help foster a lively environment for collaboration and opportunities for attendees to get closer to their movement peers.

We are committed to fighting oppressive systems and structures at The Changemaker Skills Camp. Our programming will prioritize centering racial, class and disability justice equity. In addition, camp planners will support diverse (race, ethnicity, gender, age, viewpoint, geography, neurotype, ability, etc.) session leaders. We are part of a collective project to transform our society. This ethos echoes the spirit of transformation. It calls on us to hold each other up, not push each other out.

We want to be a fair and equitable community, which requires being explicit and adaptable. These equity, power, inclusion, and liberation principles articulate our values so that partners understand our shared expectations of how our organizations align internally and function externally.

WHAT WILL THE SPACE PROVIDE FOR THOSE WHO NEED ACCESSIBILITY ACCOMMODATIONS?

The Changemaker Skills Camp is committed to providing an accessible space for all of our community. During registration, you can identify some needs you may have, using the “Accessibility Needs/Accommodations” field on the ticketing page to share any accommodations or accessibility needs you may have so we can work with you and/or our venue to provide a safe and comfortable environment that will allow you to fully participate in the Changemaker Skills Camp.

✹ All presenters will enable live closed-captioning. Presenters will be provided guidance on creating online presentations to meet specific color contrast and other accessibility standards, including avoiding the use of flashing images, and asked to explain visual content when appropriate.

✹ A private room for lactation, pumping, and/or chestfeeding will be available for those who require it. We cannot provide on-site childcare, but we will do our best to accommodate working parents or those who need to bring infants.

✹ A quiet room will be available on-site for decompression/sensory breaks for all conference attendees. If you’re interested in hosting one of these spaces, please email us at events@movementcooperative.org.

    WILL CHILDCARE BE PROVIDED?

The camp will not provide childcare, but we are happy to work with local organizations to create a referral list. If you need childcare on-site, please email us at events@movementcooperative.org.

We are looking for new organizations to connect with in Atlanta; please share any recommendations with us by emailing: events@movementcooperative.org.

  • HEALTH AND SAFETY STATEMENT

This statement will share information about TMC and State Voices’ (“CSC organizers”) updated COVID-19 & Health and Safety protocols implemented to provide a healthy and safe space during Changemaker Skill Camp (CSC) in Atlanta, Georgia, March 5 - 8, 2024.

With the ongoing impacts of COVID-19, we are building the following policies and practices for in-person events that prioritize keeping us all healthy and safe. We understand the current climate is continuing to evolve, and we are committed to doing our best to stay informed and up-to-date.

We want attendees to have as much information as possible to make an informed decision on in-person versus virtual attendance. We encourage you to utilize current transmission data from the Georgia resource page to make your final decision.

ATTENDEES MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF NEGATIVE COVID STATUS 24-HOURS IN ADVANCE OF ARRIVAL
CSC 2024 requires proof of a negative COVID-19 test before entering the event. This test can be a rapid at-home antigen test.

In-person attendees must use this form to upload proof of a negative test 24-hours in advance of arriving in the conference space.

Please note that CSC organizers will not provide tests prior to the conference. If you cannot provide proof of a negative test 24-hours in advance, you will be required to test at registration before entering the conference space. Testing at registration will slow down the process for yourself and others in addition to potentially exposing others to COVID-19, should you test positive. We strongly encourage you to upload your proof of negative COVID status in advance for these reasons.

CSC also encourages folks to be fully vaccinated and will have on-site masks available for use in crowded indoor spaces. People are best protected when they stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations, which includes getting a booster when eligible. If you have received all recommended doses of a COVID-19 vaccine that have been authorized or approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or are listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization (WHO), then you are considered to be fully vaccinated and more protected against the viral infection.

    SELF-HEALTH ASSESSMENT

All in-person attendees and guests should conduct a health self-assessment before attending CSC. This includes getting tested for COVID-19 24 hours before traveling.

    FACE COVERING

While participating at CSC, we strongly encourage masks unless you are presenting or on stage as a plenary speaker. Remember that wearing a mask keeps you safer even when others in the space are not wearing masks.

We will have masks and other PPE available at our Health and Safety Table with our volunteers. Loudermilk Conference Center will have hand sanitizer stations throughout the venue. We ask that you make use of these.

    EXPOSURE AND REPORTING

While we will do our best to limit exposure and keep each other safe, individuals may test positive for COVID-19 before, during, and after our conference. If you experience symptoms of COVID-19 please refrain from attending any conference events and use our hybrid option.

Remain in your hotel room and request a COVID-19 test by emailing events@movementcooperative.org. You will need to email your negative test results to rejoin the event. If you test positive, please do not attend any additional events and use the current CDC guidelines to determine how long you should quarantine. CSC organizers reserve the right to work on a case-by-case basis for further accommodations.

You can access local COVID-19 Testing and vaccination sites for further support.

CSC organizers will anonymously inform all attendees that a fellow participant has tested positive for COVID-19. In addition, if you test positive, we ask that you alert personal contacts at the conference and communicate with events@movementcooperative.org. We will share with all participants in a private manner of contact tracing to alert of possible exposure based on CDC guidelines. This is part of what it means to care for one another. It’s our responsibility to each other as a community.

    CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

CSC reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any program or event during CSC 2024. This includes our programming, workshops, gatherings, and any/all other additional programs.

If you fail to provide proof of negative COVID status prior to your first session registration, you will not be permitted to attend CSC, and your registration fee will not be refunded. If you test positive for COVID-19 24 hours before your first session registration, we will work with you to access virtual options for attendance, if you feel well enough to participate or refund your ticket cost, if you are unwell.

These recommendations have been developed based on current CDC guidelines at our conference venue and with input from our larger community. CSC organizers reserve the right to adjust the above COVID-19 policy as per updated CDC or institutional guidelines.

Please do not hesitate to contact events@movementcooperative.org with any questions or concerns. We look forward to seeing you in Atlanta!
