What is the General Assembly about? Why should I attend?
The annual meeting is the highlight of a cooperative’s year. It is the time when management gives an accounting to members and when members-as joint owners-express their views to the manager, directors, and employees. Summed up, the annual meeting is-and should be viewed as-the major cooperative educational event of the year. Each year TMC staff and members come together to discuss the direction or governance of The Movement Cooperative, and we encourage discussions as a community about how to best achieve our current mission. We also will review our current values statement and look into current vendors/future vendors with whom we might want to partner. It is also an opportunity for members to collaborate on what we want to build together in 2019, and beyond. Our goal is to create a program where people are learning new ideas, sharing accomplishments and plans from the past year, and identifying priorities and potential partnerships for our roadmap moving forward.
